This shredder works remarkably as advertised. It can handle up to 11 sheets of paper at at time, hence the name the W-11C. We liked it for home office use or for a smaller business. It shreds well consistently, and if you get too zealous about shredding it has a reverse feed option if too many papers were shoved into the feeder at one time.
The price on this shredder is pretty fair if you can get it for under $100 USD. It can handle occasional staples and also can tear up credit cards with ease. Cross-Cut shredders are more secure too than a strip cut. The paper will be destroyed into several unreadable pieces.

Promoted as a power-shredder by Fellowes, this shredder on our multiple tests can reduce papers and documents into cross cut measuring 5/32” x 2”. This size of shred is considered a level three high-security confetti cut. This can also accommodate up to 11 sheets of paper per pass, but we recommended up to 8-10 sheets of paper per pass. Just like the other Fellowes paper shredder, this one comes with 9” wide paper entry which means that you can shred as long as the paper’s width is not more than 9” wide. Based on our tests you can also feed standard letter or legal size papers and documents. Also, the cutters of the shredder will accept credit card and staples. Promoting its convenient use is the addition of the electronic auto/start and stop and with this in place; the shredder can easily start and stop its shredding operations.

The Fellowes W-11C paper shredder is one bulky addition to the home office. This measures 457.20x 349.30x 215.90mm and weighs 14.11 lbs. This is one of the minor complaints about this home office machine. It is rather top heavy, and moving the Fellowes PowerShred from one part of the home office to the next can be difficult.This Fellowes W-11C is a solid Level Three cross-cut paper shredder. On this count alone, we decided to test this paper shredder and expected a number of things. This product did not disappoint, and thanks to its reliable metal cutters, papers and documents are shredded into cross cuts and documents are reduced into high-security 5/32” x2” cuts and this ensure a more private and efficient shredding. Testing indicated that this shredder is an able performer and a reliable one at that comes with the safety interlock switch There’s no need to find the button for it to stop, just lift the lid of the machine and the paper shredder will automatically ends it task.
When working with this paper shredder, have an eye on the reverse function as this can prove helpful when paper jam happens. Just hit the button in order to power the shredder out of the paper jam. Don’t use cardboards or other non-recommended materials. The machine will stop, and you will need to wait for a few minutes in order for the machine to cool off and for you to use it again. Other cutting notes to remember: this can be used to handle and discard CDs, credit cards and cardstock. In our tests conducted, what we like with the machine is that this can handle junk mail straight from the envelope. And since this produces cross-cuts, cuts are more efficient and more secure if compared to strip cutting. The shredded paper can be recycled and it packs down well, so it won’t take up too much space.
This machine comes with a three year warranty for the cutter. The product package comes with the wastebasket, machine with power cord, the user’s guide, and the warranty card. The wastebasket is attached and can only accommodate up to 5 gallons. Many times users complain that the basket should handle more paper, but then other users complain about the large size of the W-11C PowerShred. It’s big, but not too big.
The bin is fitted just under the shredder, and to empty the bin you need to lift the shredder. Just a warning though, the paper shredder is a bit heavy. Due to the weight of the machine, this comes with the fold-down handle in order to make lifting and moving easier. The waste bin comes with a small opening in order to accommodate envelopes and other things that do not require shredding. Also, you need to physically check the bin from time to time in order to check if the basket is already full. For a busy person, this can be irritating in the long run.
The Fellowes PowerShred is quieter in terms of operations compared with some of the shredders in the market. This may not be excellent if compared with the top-of-the-line shredders, but performance is better than average..
Fellowes W-11C Cross-Cut PowerShred is Recommended for Home Office Use
This paper shredder is packed with many features, including those that promote safety thus making this a good addition to any home. You’ll find the slide switch that can turn the unit on and off, and there’s the continuous reverse as well. There are safety precautions as well, for example when the shredder head is lifted off the waste bin then the machine will not start unless this is corrected.
